Matlock was formed in 1938 at the lido pool in the town centre. It was a small but successful club. The lido was 8 lanes and 33m long, it was a outdoor pool with Jack Soppitt being a important club member. In the 60’s funds were raised for a roof to be build. Matlock swimming club grow into a established club of the Midlands with Alan Rapley swimming with the club and going on to swim for GB in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.

In 2011 Matlock moved to a new state of the art facility, called the Arc, it’s a 25m 8 lane competition pool. Here the club has become a hub of the community and host many events at the Arc Leisure centre.

We are a not for profit, entirely self-funded, not council subsidized, fully inclusive swimming squad for Matlock and surrounding Districts.
